An all-new spectacle of incredible proportions is headed straight towards greater Seattle families! Teatro ZinZanni's magical spiegltent will fill with the sounds of play and laughter as award-winning, Seattle-based kindie music artists Recess Monkey team up with the world class talents of ZinZanni's internationally renowned dinner show for "In Tents," a nine show series for children taking place May-July 2012. Inspired by the sounds of Recess Monkey's new album of the same name-"In Tents" releasing June 19, 2012-each of these kid-oriented productions features a special script that will take you through high-flying circus fun with performances from Ariana Lallone, Peter Pitofsky, Sergey Krutikov, Saffi Watson, and Korum Bischoff, all set to the live musical stylings of Recess Monkey and their latest circus-themed tunes, including tracks like "Popcorn," "Carousel," and "In Tents". Recess Monkey is Seattle's very own nationally acclaimed trio of elementary school teachers who rock, and are known best for their high-energy shows and catchy, hysterical recordings. TIME magazine celebrated Recess Monkey's "tight, smart, acclaimed original songs... and seriously grooving funk." People magazine gave them 4/4 stars. Mindy Thomas from SiriusXM's Kids Place Live says, "These guys are able to tap into elementary school so well that it's like they never left. In this never-ending nationwide talent show of kid and family music, they are most definitely at the top." Also members of Seattle's fast growing Kindiependent music collective of family music artists, Recess Monkey has been delighting kids and their parents for over seven years with music that both young and old can enjoy together. Teatro ZinZanni's internationally renowned performers featured in "In Tents" include former Pacific Northwest Ballet principal ballerina Ariana Lallone as The Wizard, former Ringling Bros Circus performer Peter Pitofsky as Pedro the Circus Master, and Ukranian musician and juggler Sergey Krutikov. Rounding out the cast are Seattle's circus star of tomorrow, 10-year old gymnast, contortionist, and aeralist Saffi Watson, as well as drummer and graphic artist Korum Bischoff as the ever-loveable, Bear. Each production in the series features a pre-show carnival from 10-11AM complete with kid-friendly games like a beanbag toss; $2 per play, and everyone wins every time. Food and refreshments will be available at Teatro ZinZanni; these items are not included in the ticket price.
